"Little Miss": is doing so well.......

Sorry, it took me so long to update you guys on Kennedy's surgery. She did so well doing the three hour surgery. She did have an issue keeping her stat's up right after the surgery. She was on lots of meds and was so sleeping that she had a time getting her stats to her normal 93%. So, we had to stay about three hours after the surgery for little miss to get with the program. Unlike last time we were able to go home same day. YEAH! The Dr. placed a stent in each nostrils and sewed them through her septum. The stents look so good. So, good that you can't even see them. Along with the stents she had tubes placed in both ears (were glad they were able to get a tube in the lefted one) and they seem to be doing good, we have had lots of "junk" coming out of them, which I hope means they are working. ENT also told us that Kennedy's adenoids were large and they will be looking into taking those out soon. This is the 1st time we have heard about there being a problem with her adenoids but hey we take it with a grain of salt. ~~ We have tried capping Kennedy since the surgery but she wants nothing to do with that. So, we will work at her pace and take it slow. People have been asking me "what's next with the trach" Well...... I think Kennedy needs to overcome her swallowing issue to be able to get her trach out. Kennedy has to learn how to NOT breathe and swallow at the same time (the trach allows her to do that). Also, she needs to learn to swallow more frequently. OT and Speech will be helping us with that along with lots and lots of practice. Again, we will be moving at her pace. I hope that is sooner rather than later but as she has taught us many time over, we have to take it one day at a time. Other, than that Kennedy has been herself since we lefted the hospital.
